My Teaching Philosophy
Teaching is a difficult task. It requires dedication and patiance to the highest degree, and it is simultaneously a job that is not for everybody and a job a lot of people that think it is easy. It's not.
Different students have different needs, some children need to sit closer to the whiteboard due to poor eyesight, other students have certain learning related disabilities like ADHD, Autism or Dyslexia, or can get overwhelemd by certain stimuli in the classroom. I, as an autistic person, try to keep this in mind.
I believe the classroom should stimulate students in a positive manner, both in the content taugh and in the classroom itself. My ideal physical classroom would have posters, warm colored lights, a small reading corner and walls that are not colored in white, in which students can feel at ease.
I would also encourage participation in the classroom with fun games and discussing topics of the students choosing, but making sure they do not raise their tone or begin aggravating eachother. Discussions are important, because speaking and learning to communicate yourself in an effective manner is a very important skill to have.
